  • What's the difference between a nanny and a babysitter?
    Babysitter – provides temporary care for children on a irregular basis, either full or part-time. Provides a safe environment while the parents are away with the same background check as our permanent nannies. Nanny – employed to work either full or part-time either as live-in or live-out. Tasks of a nanny are usually centered around childcare. Examples of what a typical nanny does are related to the children are: cooking, laundry, errands and picking up after the children. Nannies will also pick or drop off your children for school, or sports events. Many times they also clean up the sink area and empty the dishwasher or other light chores if they have the time. Sometimes nannies will also do extra light household chores for a slight increase in pay. Nannies sometimes have formal training and all have solid experience. Nannies work unsupervised.
  • How do you find your nannies?
    We find our nannies a number of ways. Because we provide such exceptional services, most of our business is word of mouth! We have a high demand of families in need of trustworthy a nanny that they can trust with their little one(s). We have to outsource our nannies in various ways in order to fill that need.   • Do you perform background checks?
    We pride ourselves on quality and integrity in vetting the nannies that work with us and our families! In addition to an extensive formal application and face-to-face interview, each candidate must be over 18, able to legally work in the US, and have a valid driver's license. The Nanny Connection will obtain feedback from at least 2 past childcare references, check motor vehicle history, and perform a detailed criminal background check (national/state/county criminal search, alias name search, address history, social security verification, and sex-offender database).
  • Are The Nannies That Your Agency Works With CPR And First Aid Trained?
    Nannies usually fall into three categories: Those who are CPR and First Aid trained Those who are CPR and First Aid trained, but with lapsed certificates. Those who are not CPR or First Aid trained, but are willing to become certified if that’s a requirement for the job. Our agency works with a mix of these types of candidates. We do not work with applicants who don’t have First Aid or CPR and don’t show a willingness to obtain these certificates. We also often recruit nannies who have nursing degrees or infant/child CPR and first aid certifications. Additionally, we ask our applicants to provide evidence of their certificates. We copy and store these documents in the candidate’s profile.
  • What can I expect from my nanny?
    Our nannies are here to provide lifestyle help! Daily tasks typically include: Pick-ups from school, transportation home, cooking meals, bathing & getting children ready for bed, indoor/outdoor play, help with homework, and transportaion to extracurricular activities. Nanny’s main responsibility is childcare, however our nannies will also perform light household chores if they have the time. Nannies will also do extra light chores such as clean up the sink area, empty the dishwasher, cleaning up toys from the family room, and laundry (upon request).
